How do I get started?

  • If you're under the age of 18, you must apply for a checking account in-person with a co-signer or joint account holder over the age of 18.
  • If you're 18 or older, you can open a checking account online or in-branch without a co-signer.

Using the My Cards section in the mobile app, you can add your debit card to Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay. There will be steps to confirm your identity. Once you have completed the steps, your card will be available in your mobile wallet.
Dollar Bank offers several ways to avoid overdraft fees:

1. No non-sufficient funds fees: When you don’t have enough funds in your account to cover a transaction and we don’t pay the item on your behalf, no fee is charged. 

2. Overdraft protection: Money from your savings can be automatically transferred to your checking account to cover transactions that would otherwise overdraft your checking account.

3. No overdraft fees on items under $5.00.

4. If you're looking for an account that comes with no overdraft fees, period, our No Overdraft Checking Account could be a good match for you. This Bank On certified account won't let transactions bring your funds below your available balance, so you'll never be charged an overdraft fee.
Students over 18 have access to Zelle within Online Banking and the mobile app. For those under 18, options such as Cash App, Paypal and Venmo are available. Visit P2P Payments for instructions on how to connect your debit card to these peer-to-peer payment services.
While having a checking account with Dollar Bank makes it easier for the parent/guardian to transfer money to their student’s account, it's not required.
Yes. parents and teens can rename their account in the Dollar Bank Mobile App. 

1. Click on the account name in the Account Summary page. 

2. Click Details.

3. Click Change Account Nickname to rename the account in Online Banking. 
If the student is under the age of 18, an adult joint owner is required. If a minor reaches the age of 18 and the parent/guardian no longer wants to be on the account, both account owners must visit a branch to have the parent/guardian removed.

Subject to 1099 tax reporting.

**To send or receive money with Zelle®, both parties must have an eligible checking or savings account. Transactions between enrolled users typically occur in minutes. Select transactions could take up to 3 days.

***Early Pay is available for retail account customers in good standing who set up direct deposit with their employer or other payer to receive electronic deposits of regular periodic payments (such as salary, pension or government benefits). The timing of when a transaction is credited is based upon when the payer submits the payment instructions to Dollar Bank. Early Pay is not a guarantee that you will receive your direct deposit earlier than your scheduled pay date and Early Pay may be delayed due to unanticipated circumstances.
