Dollar Bank Presenting Sponsor of the Annual University Heights Juneteenth Celebration
June 5, 2024 – Cleveland, OH - The University Heights Juneteenth Celebration returns for its third year with Dollar Bank as the presenting sponsor. The event serves as a collaboration between the city, local businesses and residents, and joins a lineup of community focused celebrations of the federal holiday throughout the Cleveland area.
The University Heights Juneteenth Celebration will combine education and entertainment, offering live music, interactive fitness programs, local vendors and artists. Juneteenth is a commemoration of historical significance and serves as a celebration of the rich cultural contributions of the African American community.
“It’s important that we celebrate what Juneteenth means to our country, but it’s also important that we recognize this as an opportunity to invest in the community by supporting local businesses and artists,” said Dorothy Curtis, Vice President of Community Development. Dollar Bank joined as a sponsor in 2023 and welcomed the opportunity to return as presenting sponsor in 2024 when the event expanded to include multiple stages for musical acts and spoken word performances. “This celebration is a beautiful day for families in University Heights to come together. We honor our diversity, our history and our future.”
The community celebration will take place at Walter Stinson Community Park on Sunday, June 16th from 1:30 to 8:30 PM. Performances on the Dollar Bank Main Stage include Jade Novah, The Cleveland Chorale, Jul Big Green, The New Connection, Da Land Brass Band, Humble G the Fiddla, Tayla Wayla and Siaara Freeman.
