Dollar Bank Awards Funds to Pennsylvania Organizations Through EITC

Dollar Bank awarded $825,000 to more than 50 Pennsylvania organizations through the state’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.

The EITC program allows businesses to obtain tax credits of up to 90% of their Pennsylvania state tax liability for contributions to approved education organizations and schools that provide tuition assistance to students in need.

“We are grateful to be part of the next generation's success,” said Morton Stanfield, senior vice president of community development. “As a community bank, we embrace the opportunity that this program creates for students to have access to resources and education programs that will help them reach their full potential.”

Dollar Bank contributed funds, ranging from $2,500 to $60,000, to 57 organizations, including:

  • ACH Clear Pathways
  • Cafe Momentum Pittsburgh
  • Community College of Allegheny County Educational Foundation
  • Family Guidance
  • Fund for the Advancement of Minorities through Education, Inc. (FAME)
  • Heritage Community Initiatives
  • Homewood Children's Village
  • Lifesteps, Inc.
  • NEED - Negro Educational Emergency Drive
  • Poise Foundation
  • River Art Works
  • The Citizen Science Lab
  • The Neighborhood Academy
  • Washington County Community Foundation
  • Watson Institute

The selected organizations represent a diverse array of missions and programs dedicated to addressing critical needs in education while empowering the next generation of learners and leaders in the region.

“The EITC program and Dollar Bank's generous contribution are game changers for The Citizen Science Lab,” Founder, President and CEO of the Citizen Science Lab Dr. Andre Samuels said. “These resources enable us to expand our reach, invest in cutting-edge STEM education and inspire the next generation of scientists right here in Pittsburgh. Together, this partnership is building a future where innovation and opportunity thrive in our community.”
