Dollar Bank’s Free Homeownership Workshop Returns to Cleveland — The Way Home Starts Here
Dollar Bank is celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Way Home with a special edition of its free homebuying workshop on Saturday, April 11 at the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) Eastern Campus. This educational event was created to help more people take confident steps toward owning a home. Whether lifelong renters, first-generation homebuyers or simply those seeking access to expert homebuying resources, this workshop is designed to open doors for all.
Since its beginning, The Way Home has empowered thousands of participants, offering non-judgmental financial guidance, including mortgage basics, credit-strengthening strategies, budgeting tools and access to community resources — all to help residents break barriers often associated with buying a home.
“Reaching a milestone like 25 years means we’ve stood alongside homebuyers across this region through countless life changes and economic cycles,” said Vice President of Community Development, Dorothy Curtis. “We’re proud to continue offering this workshop with intentional programming that welcomes not just the traditional homebuyer, but lifelong renters and families who deserve trusted guidance to take the next step.”
The Way Home is just one part of Dollar Bank's comprehensive effort to help would-be borrowers with credit-building needs. Attendees are encouraged to continue working with Dollar Bank counselors beyond attending the workshop.
Ameisha Boykin, Assistant Vice President of Community Development, works closely with participants in the Homeownership Program. “We understand that today’s journey to homeownership is filled with unknowns, but we’re here to help,” said Boykin. “Our workshop and program are designed to demystify the process and empower you to make informed decisions.”
Curtis added, “Individuals gain access to a world of information and resources, including our educational classes, private credit restoration counseling sessions, special savings programs, down payment assistance and other informational group sessions. The first step is showing up. We’ll walk with you from there.”
