Dollar Bank’s Free Homeownership Workshop Returns — The Way Home Starts Here
Dollar Bank is proud to announce the return of The Way Home Homebuying Workshop. Scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Sheraton Station Square, this free, community-centered event is designed to help attendees navigate the path to homeownership with expert guidance.
Now in its 27th year locally, The Way Home began as a workshop for single mothers. Today, it continues Dollar Bank’s long-standing commitment to building opportunity for all by breaking down barriers to owning a home. From understanding mortgage options, improving credit and budget strategies to working with real estate professionals — this workshop has delivered financial empowerment to over 5,000 attendees since 1999.
“Every homebuyer’s journey is unique,” said Vice President and Director of Community Development, Jason Jones.” Whether someone has struggled to access guidance or resources, is stepping out of the lifelong renting cycle, or is charting a path as a first-generation homeowner, we’re committed to meeting them where they are and giving them the tools to move forward with confidence.”
The Way Home is just one part of Dollar Bank's comprehensive effort to help would-be borrowers with credit-building needs. Attendees are encouraged to continue working with Dollar Bank counselors beyond attending the workshop. Kelly Bowman and Susan Kelly, both Community Development Credit Counselors, work closely with participants in the Homeownership Program. “We understand that today’s journey to homeownership is filled with unknowns, but we’re here to help,” said Susan Kelly. “Our workshop and program are designed to demystify the process and empower you to make informed decisions.”
Bowman added, “Individuals gain access to a world of information and resources, including our educational classes, private credit restoration counseling sessions, special savings programs, down payment assistance and other informational group sessions. The first step is showing up. We’ll walk with you from there.”
