Online Banking Security

Keeping you and your personal information secure is a priority at Dollar Bank. We continuously research additional measures that can be implemented to ensure that your financial information is safe. Review the topics below to see what Dollar Bank is doing to help protect you and for tips on how you can protect yourself when using our Online Banking and mobile app.

Dollar Bank uses the latest hardware and software technologies to ensure the security of all data. Online Banking is available only with browsers that support Secure Socket Layer (SSL) strong encryption to protect your information through the internet.

Your Online Banking user ID and password provide one level of security for accessing your accounts. If an unusual login attempt is detected, we might also ask you to provide us with a unique, one-time passcode sent to either your mobile device via text message or via a voice call to your mobile, home or work number on file. This helps ensure that it's you that's trying to access Online Banking or our mobile app and not an unauthorized individual trying to pose as you.

Every customer accessing Online Banking should have his or her own individual Online Banking User ID and password. Dollar Bank discourages joint account holders from sharing IDs and passwords for greater security. Sign up for Online Banking and get your own individual ID and password.

For your safety, we have built-in timers that will automatically terminate your Online Banking session if you are logged in, but not using Online Banking for a certain amount of time. This built-in timer helps to protect you from unauthorized activity in case you inadvertently leave your computer without logging out of Online Banking.

Dollar Bank discourages the use of tools such as password memory services offered by browsers. These pop-up message boxes, asking if you want your computer to remember this password for future log-ins, removes a level of security that protects your account access.

To keep online communication between you and Dollar Bank convenient, yet safe, we implemented a secure message center service. Within the security of Online Banking, you can use the secure message center to send and receive messages about your accounts. Click on the envelope icon anywhere in Online Banking to receive, send and view your messages.

Dollar Bank offers tips to help ensure your security and privacy as an Online Banking user:

  • Never give your Online Banking ID or password to anyone. Dollar Bank employees will never ask you for your Online Banking password.
  • When you’ve completed your online transactions, click Log Out to leave Online Banking.
  • Passwords are important. Don’t pick a password that can be easily guessed. Change your password periodically. Don’t write your password in a place where someone could find it. If you forget your Online Banking ID or password, call us for assistance at 1-800-242-2265, Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
  • For greater security, Dollar Bank requires using a browser with a minimum of 256 bit SSL encryption to access Online Banking.

For your protection, Dollar Bank masks your account numbers. When you are viewing your account information, Dollar Bank displays X’s for part of any account number so that the whole number cannot be seen.

Dollar Bank does not display personal information such as names or Social Security numbers in Online Banking.

As an additional security feature, Dollar Bank displays the last login date on each page to show you when your most recent Online Banking login occurred. If you do not remember logging into Online Banking on that date, please contact Dollar Bank immediately at 1-800-242-2265, Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
